How to x-ray vision Minecraft
You’ve heard of x-ray vision, but do you know X-ray vision Minecraft? All it takes is some ingenuity and computer savvy, and you can give yourself the power to see through walls and travel anywhere you want without the worry of being blocked by solid surfaces. Follow along with this Minecraft tutorial, and learn how to x-ray in Minecraft today! Before we get started, make sure you have already installed Minecraft Forge API and Optifine HD Mod.
Get yourself an X-Ray resource pack
X-Ray resource packs are a fun way to get a behind-the-scenes look at everything happening within your Minecraft world.
However, because these texture packs allow you to see through walls and other objects, it’s important that you be mindful of your surroundings, so you don’t accidentally make things too easy for hackers looking for free items on your server.
Use an X-Ray resource pack with friends or play offline until you’re comfortable using it.
Learn to build a 3D render of your terrain
It’s not terribly hard, but it is time-consuming. However, you can learn how to build a 3D render of your terrain with a few modifications.
Start by connecting two render programs together:
- Minecraft
- SketchUp
There are several detailed tutorials on YouTube that show you how to do it step by step. Or take more of a trial and error approach – have fun!
Dynmap
Dynmap is a plugin that displays an interactive map of your server or Minecraft world in a web browser.
It can be used on only one world or multiplayer servers. Dynmap provides an easy way for you and your friends to view your creations using any device with web access (mobile, tablets, laptops).
Dynmap does not require Bukkit and is compatible with all popular server software.
For example:
- SpongeVanilla
- CraftBukkit
- SpigotMC
Run your own server
If you want to use X-ray vision Minecraft, hosting your own server is probably your best bet. Since you’re going to be tinkering with files, it’s a good idea to make sure you have backups of any important information—if things go south, we don’t want you losing anything valuable!
Before using x-ray vision, you’ll need to turn on x-ray vision. This feature is an opt-in setting and is disabled by default.
To turn it on-
- Click Options at the main menu
- Go to video settings
There will be a dropdown that says X-ray. Selecting on will give you access to your X-ray vision mode, but your computer will have trouble running Minecraft smoothly.
Using x-ray can make Minecraft run slowly, so you’ll have better luck playing on a server with few other players or dedicated to modded content only.
Keep track of your coordinates.
If you’re playing on singleplayer, it’s a good idea to keep track of your coordinates at all times. X-ray vision Minecraft won’t work if you don’t know where you are.
Write down your coordinates at spawn and periodically throughout your game session so that when you turn the x-ray on, you can pinpoint exactly where you need to go.
